In a field full of roses, she’s a wildflower
About Kat
When I first came to my mat over ten years ago, to say I was struggling would be an understatement.
Before yoga, I felt programmed to always be the best--nothing short of PERFECT.
Coupled with challenges of life I was desperately seeking something that would allow me to feel good, and I found that on my mat.
The practice gave me space to connect to my creativity, tap into my passions, and enduring sensation to find my edge.
I learned the power of vulnerability, the magic of community and strength of my body.
I have learned that growth is the most important thing there is.
Growth can be scary, or wonderful, or wonderfully scary all at the same time. Using the practice of breath, reflection and the power of community you can find stability in growth to do anything.
A wildflower doesn’t grow to be perfect, it grows because it’s alive.
Each plant is unique, featuring unique beauty, wisdom, medicine. Each has a cycle of bloom, rest, growth.
And no wildflower stands alone, they are always connected to their community--their history.
I am proud to say my life is no longer a pursuit of perfection, but a constant practice to live in my truth, honor what I have to offer today, and take the time to smell the wildflowers.
In January 2018, I decided it was time for me to take yoga teacher training. It was quite a leap; quitting my very stable, predictable corporate job to fully immerse myself in a 200 Hour YTT program.
I learned so much about alignment, poses, but my inspiration came from my students.
Learning your story, seeing your smile, seeing your growth
it is my everything!
Truly, my students motivate me to live my life a little lighter and braver.
Starting Kat Dawson Yoga is a whole new adventure.
I’m excited to see where things grow—I hope we can grow together.
